Smart Bazar is built with privacy-first principles. We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data or usage analytics to external servers. All information stays exclusively on your device.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Smart Bazar ("the Application"), developed by NexaBytes Studio ("we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding user data, permissions, and compliance with Google Play Developer Program Policies.
By installing and using Smart Bazar, you acknowledge and agree to the practices outlined in this policy.
2. Information Collection and Storage
Smart Bazar operates completely as an offline-first local utility tool.
- No Account or Registration Required: You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide your name, email, or phone number to use any feature of the app.
- Zero Data Transmission: The app does not connect to any private developer servers or cloud databases. No user information is transmitted over the internet.
- Local Device Storage (Room SQLite): All shopping lists, items, checked statuses, estimated prices, and actual purchase totals are saved inside the application's protected local database on your device (Android Room).
- Preferences & Settings: Your language choice (Bengali, English, Hindi), currency symbol (₹, ৳, $), monthly budget limit, and dark/light theme setting are saved locally via Android SharedPreferences.
3. App Features & How Data is Handled
A. Grocery Lists & Item Management
When you create shopping lists, add items (vegetables, groceries, spices, household goods), record unit rates, and check off purchased goods, this information is stored solely within your device's isolated application sandbox.
B. Monthly Budget Tracker & Analytics
The Monthly Budget tracker allows you to set spending goals and view monthly expenses and category breakdowns. All budget calculations, visual progress bars, and historical spending comparisons are computed directly on your phone's processor.
C. Smart Price Calculator & Weight/Unit Converter
The calculator converts rates between standard units (Kilogram, Gram, Quintal, Liter, Milliliter, Dozen, Piece, Hali). All formulas run strictly in-memory; no calculations are logged or sent remotely.
D. Shopkeeper Mini POS & Quick Billing
The Mini POS mode facilitates fast cart billing and receipt formulation for small shopkeepers, vendors, and shoppers. Receipts generated by the user exist only as local plain text.
E. User-Initiated Sharing (WhatsApp / SMS)
The app allows you to share shopping lists or billing receipts via Android's native Share Sheet (Intent.ACTION_SEND). This action is 100% initiated by you. Smart Bazar does not monitor, inspect, or intercept the content or recipient of shared messages.

5. Device Permissions Requested
Smart Bazar adheres to the principle of least-privilege permissions. We only request install-time system permissions essential for core utility UX:

android.permission.VIBRATE(Normal / Install-time): Used exclusively to provide gentle haptic feedback when you check off grocery items, tap keypads, or swipe-to-delete items. It cannot access any personal files or private information.
Permissions NOT requested: We DO NOT request Internet access for data transfer, Camera, Microphone, Read Contacts, Read Call Logs, Fine Location, or External Storage permissions.
6. Third-Party Libraries & Advertising
Smart Bazar is completely free of third-party advertisements and external trackers:
- No Ad Networks: We do not include Google AdMob, Unity Ads, Facebook Audience Network, or any other commercial ad SDK.
- No Analytics SDKs: We do not use Google Firebase Analytics, AppsFlyer, Mixpanel, or Flurry.
- Open-Source Frameworks: The application is developed using standard Android Jetpack libraries (Compose, Room, ViewModel) published by Google.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Families Policy)
Smart Bazar does not target children under the age of 13, nor does it knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children. Because the application does not collect personal data from any user regardless of age, it complies fully with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Google Play Families Policy.
8. Data Retention, Security & Deletion
- Security: Because your data never leaves your device, it is secured by your operating system's built-in sandbox security model and your device's lock screen protection.
- Manual Deletion: You can clear individual items, swipe to remove, delete whole lists, or tap "Clear Completed History" in the app's settings at any time.
- Complete Erasure: Uninstalling the application or clearing the app's data through Android System Settings permanently and irrevocably deletes all database records and preferences from your device.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time if new offline features are added. Any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated "Effective Date". We encourage users to periodically review this page.
